If the May Popsugar Must Have box was all about announcing that summer was approaching, the Popsugar June box screams summer has arrived; and it’s here to stay for a while. The editors at the Popsugar Must Have headquarters made their magic happen, sprinkled some sunshine dust all over this months box, and filled it with cute, and functional items.

If you are new to theboxqueen (and WELCOME :)) you can find my detailed reviews of the previous 2014 PopSugar Must Have Boxes here. May, April, March, February, January These are great resources to see what this subscription is all about, and also to see examples of what they send out each month.

In a gist, Popsugar Must Have is my long time most-liked lifestyle sub. It is curated by the editors at Popsugar and each months delievers unique, and quality brands ( with a few
mainstream ones here and there) worth roughly $100, and sometimes much more. The monthly subscription is $39.95, and there are prepaid subscriptions for longer periods with sliding discounts. For instance the 3 month sub is $109.85 which saves you $10.

Right now there is a discount code that’ll save you 50% more (update) HOLIDAY50 The June box it’s still available as of right now, I suspect it’ll be sold out soon with these discount codes. Let’s take a peak into the June box 🙂

This month Popsugar changed their catalog into the cute one with the palm tree above. I think this one is more organized with items listed together and it’s also prettier. What did you think ladies if you are currently subbing, did you like the renewed information booklet?

On the back of the booklet, there’s a list of what inspired this month’s box. The list includes Beach Hair, Citrus, Sand, Surf, Relax, Unwind, Read, Stripes, and Backyard BBQ’s. Pretty much sums up a lot of things I heart in summer. In this box, there isn’t one thing I wouldn’t use. It’s a good mix of beauty, fashion, food, and entertainment. Here is a closer look to each item.

The One & Only: A Novel ( Suggested price noted on Popsugar $28 Found for $16.52 ) It’s not a secret I love love reading since I learned how to as a 6 yr old. I’ve heard of a lot of buzz around this novel, and recently a couple of my friends mentioned they really liked it. I think when I closed both my ears with my hands, they got the message I didn’t want any spoilers hehe.

If I am planning to read a book I prefer to start it with as little info as possible ( other than the general theme). I want to imagine the characters in my head, create my own world before I start discussing it. Perfect timing on Popsugar’s part to send this in the June box. Very happy <3

Sachajuan Body Lotion – Shiny Citrus ($24) According to the Popsugar Must Have booklet description, this lotion promises to calm & soothe your skin with Swedish Oats, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I am a big fan of citrus scents, and give bonus points to the lightweight texture of the lotion. This one is another winner.

Turkish – T Beach Towel ($32)  I should know a thing or two about Turkish Towels; I grew up using them. To this day, I use them for the pool/beach/home all summer long. (Actually I got my whole family into them, and now we have stacks of them in our bathrooms.) They are lightweight, and easy to carry. Under the warm sun I don’t really want my heavy plush towels which I love for winter showers&baths.

This particular one seems to be a good quality and it’s also a very pretty color. I’ve already started using it at the pool, and it’ll be used again and again in the coming months.

You Smell Lemon Wet Wipes ( Popsugar Suggested Price $6 Found the Aloe version for $5) These wipes are very refreshing, and I absolutely love that they don’t have alcohol in the ingredients. They’ll be carried around in my bags, and I suspect the initial box will be finished soon. My kids like them too. I see more boxes in our future.

Lollies Hair Ties ($8) In my house hair ties disappear into the thin air. Me and my girls love changing them up a lot  so it’s a constant search for this color, or that design. We also lose them or leave them at places frequently. These hair ties in the June Popsugar Must Have box are a welcome addition to our collection. I like this braided version, they almost look like cute bracelets.

One Potato Two Potato Kettle Potato Chips Case of 24 – 2 oz Bags (Hawaiian BBQ) ( One bag $2) I am not a big BBQ flavor fan in chips ( though I can’t get enough of barbecues). This one went to my hubby, and older daughter who are very fond of the flavor.

Native Union Amazon Store ($15) A gift card to Native Union that carries a variety of modern tech gadgets. I already have my eye on the Native Union MONOCLE Personal speakerphone – Mint

Overall Impressions: This box is a big success for me. Lately Popsugar has been rocking with their choices, and I think the monthly curation & the mix of items are getting better each month. The value of this box is around $103- $ 115 ( My finds vs Popsugar suggested prices) which is 2 to 3 times what I paid for. I also evaluate the box by it’s value to me in terms of functionality, and of course whether the items are swoon worthy. June’s items for me fall into at least one of the two categories.

  • Cheryl

I loved my box as well. All of the items are so perfect for summer (everything went right into my beach bag) and will get so much use. I’m especially loving the Turkish towel- this is my first time using one and I can’t wait to get more!

    • You’ll love the Turkish towel Cheryl! It’s so lightweight, easy to carry and use as a cover up say to walk to the shower. I love my plush towels still but save them for winter/fall now :)) Agree the whole box was pure summer ready. Talk soon and have the best Tuesday lovely, XOXO, Elif

  • I didn’t know about Turkish towels, but it seems like I’ve missed something really good!

    • It’s a wonderful value and has some amazing brands. Totally recommend! XOXO, Elif

  • I have a love/hate relationship with book spoilers. When it comes to a single book, I don’t want to hear them. When it’s an entire series, I can’t help peek ahead to find out what’s going to happen and I turn into a rabbid-obsessed-fan. The release of the last two Harry Potter books were agony for me.

    • I totally know what you mean as I sometimes do that with TV shows. I am pretty good with books, I can contain myself as I really need to have my own imaginary book world lol. However with shows (especially if their whole season has ended and I am watching from Netflix) I always peak for spoilers here and there and become a bit crazy like you explained haha. XOXO, Elif

  • Nuray Baysak

That’s one good box. The book looks great, you need to tell me if it’s good after reading. The citrus scented lotion and the towel are perfect summer items. Popsugar is winning me over.

    • Popsugar does that haha. When I first started, same thing happened to me. Each month I saw the boxes I came a bit closer to getting one for myself. :-)) I can’t wait to read the book. I have a couple others I am finishing before I start this one, when I am done I promise I am sharing. XOXO, Elif

  • Great contents! You could easily take the snacks, hair toes, book and towel to the pool and have a lovely day using them all at once, hehe! 🙂

    Away From The Blue

    • Yes totally!!! That’s what I was thinking too. 🙂 Such a great box for a day at the pool/beach. XOXO, Elif
