Most of you know by now my
passion for Stitch Fix’s monthly styling service. I receive a box each month, ( I would have done more like I used to do, Stitch Fix got so popular they are backlogged right now) with sheer happiness, jump up with joy each time I see the white/green box in my doorsteps, tear into it with such enthusiasm, and share my reviews.
My dear reader Cristina suggested I show you ladies how I currently style my items from previous fixes, and my thoughts on them. (Thanks lovely girl!) I am excited to announce the new Stitch Fix Remix series. I’ll start by showing you how I styled the items in past fix reviews, and how I made them summer appropriate now. These series go hand in hand with my philosophy for style; it’s best to find versatile clothing items you can mix and match to create countless different outfits; makes fashion much more fun to be creative. You can also see my Triple Threat Fashion where I show how to use one item in three looks.
If you are new to theboxqueen ( and so happy you are here!) you can find all my Stich Fix Reviews here. They’ll give you all the information you need on how Stitch Fix works, you’ll see samples of what Stitch Fix sends, and there is also my style tips.
I’ve decided to start the series with three of my “keeper” items from past Stitch Fix’s. The skirt from my January box, the dress from February , and the flower print top from March. Below you can see how I styled each item for the original reviews. I’ll add outfit details after the last pic of each remix look. If the pieces are sold out, I’ll provide my other faves as options.
OUTFITS FROM THE ORIGINAL STITCH FIX REVIEWS
All these three items proved time, and time again how wonderful fits they are to my wardrobe, and lifestyle. They align with my view of style; each one of them have been used numerous times since I acquired them, in many outfit combinations, and for separate types of events.
Let’s start with my love affair with the mint leaf print top from March Stitch Fix.
Pink Martini Olivia Leaf Print Front Pocket Tank is the one item that spoke to me instantly right out of the March box. For me everything about it radiates happiness, cheerfulness- the feelings I try to maintain as much as I can in my life, even through fashion. It also helps the top is in mint, a color dear to my heart, and has cute leaf/flower print on it. I initially paired the tank with an orange pencil skirt. Using classic, and neutral accessories I went for a playful polished look.
Style Tip: Find pieces that evoke good feelings in you. You’ll want to reach to those pieces over and over. I can almost guarantee your “happy” pieces won’t sit in your closet waiting to be worn, and they won’t end up in the “give away” pile in a year. They’ll get a ton of use.
Having pieces like this tank top would do a lot of good for your closet. The color, and print instantly adds some fun factor to a serious look. The tank is perfect for layering inside blazers, and cardigans in cooler temperatures, and pretty worn alone in summer.

The other day I was heading to the mall with a particularly strong air circulation system. That place is chilly like no other. I almost always take a jacket, or a cardigan with me there. I wore my tank top inside this colorful blazer, ( did you notice the polka dot lining in the foldover ? Love fun details like that 🙂 ) paired it with white shorts, and added the same heels. ( that’s one of the most comfortable shoes ever- LOVE this brand)
Style Tip: Shorts can easily go fancy/evening/elegant from casual. All you need is a good pair of heels, a mix of sophisticated, and eye catching accessories, and a good old jacket. You can change up the look from serious to playful just with the change of color in the jacket. Black/neutral colors would be a bit more conservative, while a jacket like mine would be a bit more lighthearted.
Close up of the rings, belt, and bag.
Style Tip: I love a good quality bag. It’s probably where I splurge the most. (and shoes) I think a well made bag will be used for years, and it will hold up much better. For instance this FURLA bag was purchased at least 5 years ago, is used frequently, and it’s still like new.
Love the mix of mint, orange, yellow, and black on the tank.
I usually prefer to use a colorful statement earring instead of a necklace with busy print tops. I like this one for the shape, and the center stone. It’s the same color as the blazer.
Outfit Details: Jacket: Kensie ( same jacket, Super fun print option) | Top: Stitch Fix ( Great options: Turquoise Floral Tank, Pink Rose Tank, Ivory Multi Floral ) Shorts: Banana Republic Factory ( Options: Banana Republic, MK ) | Shoes: Pour La Victoire ( same brand option 1, same brand option two) Bag: Furla ( same brand option1, same brand option 2 )
Kensie Adelyn Abstract Print Drawstring Waist Dress This dress is one the coziest, most comfy pretty dresses I own. It has netting details on the shoulders, and front, and has a modern, on trend pop art print. It was quite effortless to make it a bit more dressy with metallic/velvet heels, a gold clutch, and some whimsical jewelry like the lovebirds necklace.
StyleTip: Don’t write off a traditionally casual dress ( like a drawstring waist one) for an evening look. Accessorizing is everything. A fierce shoe, clutches, original jewelry can transform even the simplest designs. To go a step further with your casual dress, look for little details that’ll help you make it fancier like the black netting on mine.
THEBOXQUEEN’S STITCH FIX REMIX
I had a full day of shopping, sightseeing, and strolling on the agenda a couple of days ago. I thought this Stitch Fix dress would be the perfect piece for a day of activities.
Style Tip: Instead of the more glam items I used above to put together the original outfit, this time I chose charming stud earring, a bangle bracelet, flat sandals, and a hat for when we would stay out under the midday sun. The clutch was switched with a shoulder bag that I also use as a cross body as I get more tired throughout the day. Ta da a great outfit for a touristy day, and something I still feel good inside.
The huge historical aqueducts you can see on the back were built in ( wait for it) 1554 (crazy right?) and were used to carry water to the city. I loved visiting this place and daydreaming about the old times.
Outfit Details: Dress: Stitch Fix ( option 1, sleeveless option 2) | Shoes: DV Dolce Vita (same brand option on sale , same brand second option)| Bag: B. Makowsky ( MK option , Deux Lux option)
41 Hawthorn Walt Striped Skirt This lovely skirt by Stitch Fix’s home brand 41 Hawthorn, was my keeper piece from the January Stitch Fix. I was instantly drawn to the classic stripes, and loved the skirt was a modern green. Classic with a twist. I love that!! ( You can find my other contemporary classics in “Never Out of Style” series )
Style Tip: I always say, you can have your clothes do double duty wearing them in multiple seasons. This is more difficult with pieces like sweaters obviously, but can easily be achieved with tops, skirts, and dresses.
Initially, I winterized the skirt with black tights, and color blocked the outfit styling with a yellow top, and yellow high heel oxfords. I added a big black clutch to complement the black accents in the outfit and added in gold accessories. I tried to keep the classic meets modern balance throughout the whole look.

The Walt Striped skirts lends itself easily to a good weather look. Lately I am into anything, and everything lace. ( Here I published the Lace Trend) I paired the skirt with an all lace off the shoulder top in neutral gray to make the look a bit more girly.
Style Tip: When you want to make a classic/preppy piece a little bit more feminine, pair it with girly fabrics, colors, and textures like this lace top. Same effect could have been achieved for instance, using a pink, crochet, bow tied, or chiffon top. To strengthen the girly vibe, put pieces chosen with the same intent in the supporting roles; such as the statement necklace below, or high heel sandals.
I love my Frosted Lilac Necklace from Jewelmint. I believe it’s sold out right now but they constantly have pieces I like; I am in their preferred member program where I choose to receive or skip a credit for any piece of my liking each month.
Another online store I use for jewelry is Baublebar. Here are a couple great statement necklace options: Purple option, Mint Option (super pretty), Pink Option
Outfit Details: Top: Max Studio (Option1, Option 2) | Skirt: Stitch Fix ( Asos US option, printed option option 3| Sandals: DSW (Great option) | Clutch: DSW (Option) The remixed outfits together below.

How has your week been so far?
I have been enjoying my time visiting my parents with the kids, seeing my childhood &school friends, and doing some sightseeing here and there. It’s also a lot of running around for the kids summer activities. I am playing chauffeur extraordinaire pretty much all day, and am exhausted by sleep time. It’s so worth it though. My nine year old came first in her most recent horseback riding show, ( I was screaming and clapping like a mad women – probably really embarrassing her hehe) and the younger ones are enjoying the sun. I can’t wait for my hubby to join us soon for the rest of our vacation here. I would love to hear what you’ve been up to lately. 🙂 <3
It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know each one of you more. Your e-mails, comments, and notes make my day! Please always feel free to let me know what kind of posts you like to see published on theboxqueen. 🙂
