My dear theboxqueen family, hope you are having a great summer so far. As some of you may know, I am traveling on and off this summer, and right now overseas continuing our vacation.( some places I love you’ll see below) My husband, and I are united finally and he has brought me my mail including my June Golden Tote. Here we go with the belated $49 tote review. If you are new to theboxqueen, you may want to start by reading my previous reviews of Golden Tote here. This is a great place to get more in depth info about the company, how the tote works, and a LOT of samples of the boutique quality brands they send.

This month my choice item was the Florence short in navy, and Priddy by Puella Slouchy Pant in print was my surprise item. ( one of the most worn surprise items ever) You’ll find how I wore them in real life but first some key points about Golden Tote.

  • The company is found by two friends Sarah Becker, and Sarah Sweeney. Each month they curate a beautiful collection of boutique quality pieces. They are also the founders of Puella sold at Anthropologie along with Priddy by Puella found in the totes. You need to know, these ladies are the sweetest of people, always so helpful. <3
  • Golden Tote  comes out with new picks each month. You choose one or two depending on which tote you are purchasing, ($49 or $149) and the rest is a mystery. This surprise factor is exhilarating for me (no, seriously it really is! 🙂 I LOVE anticipating what is coming in that white/golden tote bag)
  • The favorite picks of the month sell out super fast. Some ladies even purchase multiple totes, so if you like something you need to act fast. I strongly recommend subscribing to their newsletter  to get all updates Golden Tote. They let you know via e-mail when that month’s sale will be live.
  • There is a Facebook group for Golden Tote mega fans like me, ( Golden Tote Trading Group) and if anything doesn’t fit or you don’t have a place for an item in your closet for any reason after you receive it, you can trade it with the lovely ladies there. This is also a wonderful place to discuss anything and everything Golden Tote. Believe me you’ll need a place like this. Once you purchase a tote you’ll be hooked forever. 🙂

Above you see me in Istanbul, visiting a seaside neighborhood complete with an open bazaar selling accessories, and vintage decor. Simply paradise for me. <3 My slouchy pants were so comfortable to walk in all day long, and I felt stylish in them as well. A hard to find combo.

bq_0074 Enjoying a little break at a store selling the most interesting knick knacks. The bag is also from when Golden Tote did accessories surprise tote.

Style Tip: I wore my printed slouchy pants with a boat neck top that has an half open back, and studs on the tiny sleeves. Paired with flat sandals, this outfit carried me through a day of strolling around, walking on cobblestone streets, eating lunch, and a boat ride. For me this was the ultimate marriage of casual, and cool.

I also wore these pants another day, this time at night, paired with a simple black lace tank top, some bold accessories, and my lace high heel booties. ( booties seen here and here before) The pants surprisingly lent itself super easily to a more glammed up date night look. I recommend you try the pants in a similar, fancier outfit.

bq_0085 I wore my two compass necklaces both from Jewelmint. I have a thing for compass’s. I think they are super cool, and I collect them on necklaces. The wind got the shorter one a bit loop sided here. 🙂

Here we are taking a boat ride on the Bosphorus. This is the strait on the Marmara sea also connecting European side of Istanbul with the Asian side.

bq_0088 The back of the top adds a bit of drama to the otherwise mellow outfit.

bq_0115 The Florence shorts are my pick from the June Golden tote. I especially liked the color combo of the navy, and orange with a hint of white and purple. I also found it interesting that the short looks like a skort without actually being a skort if it makes sense.

Style Tip: These shorts obviously are very easy to style casually. Just add a plain tank top & flats, and you are good to go. I thought they had a nice classic print that could work well for a more formal look.

I was going to a dinner party for a celebration. The button down see through shirt, with a cami under, grounded the more playful vibe of the shorts. To keep the fun energy, I let the ties loose instead of making them into a bow. The slingback metal toe shoes completed the look along with my neutral bag.

bq_0148 I thought my Heather Belle necklace from a previous Popsugar Must Have box would go well with the neutral coloring of the rest of the accessories.

bq_0156 A closer look at the details.

  • Cheryl

Love your outfits and love the beautiful scenery in your pictures! The shorts are so cute, I adore the print and the colors. I didn’t get the slouchy pants in my June tote, but I requested them in my July tote so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🙂

    • Did you end up receiving the slouchy pants in your July tote Cheryl? I am such a big fan of those pants. I would never think they would be this much of a good fit and would go with all kinds of styled tops and shoes. Totally became a wardrobe staple. 🙂 Have a great Friday, XOXO, Elif

      • Cheryl

I didn’t, but I received something similar- Jolie slouchy pants in a black linen. I love the style and the fit, have a feeling they will be worn a lot. 🙂

        • I have seen the Jolie slouchy linen pants, they are so summery and cute and in black they would be so versatile. Enjoy my dear <3

  • I love both your outfits. I own two pairs of pajama pants (what I call slouchy pants) and love them. I always wear them while traveling. I love how you styled them.

    • This is the first time I owned a true “slouchy pant” 🙂 and I am in love with the comfort and the surprising style. Thanks Amy! I did the same thing, wore mine flying last week. XOXO, Elif

  • I have to admit that you look so chic and elegant on all of your photos. I enjoy looking at the different backgrounds from your summer holiday :))

  • fashionguru

Both pieces look really great on you. After seeing your blog now I became a Golden tote addict, too. I got the same pants in black. They are really comfortable but a little big on me. I wish I got the same one you got. It is more out of ordinary. I also got a want able box and loved all the pieces. I am looking forward to my new box.
Hope you are enjoying your travel, have great time!

    • Haha, isn’t Golden Tote addicting 🙂 I have been saying it all along! It really is the BEST deal ever and I happy to know you started to enjoy it too 🙂 The pants are wonderful. I bet they would be just as easy to wear in black though it’s a bummer they’re a bit big on you. I do agree the print makes them special. You have to share what you got in Wantable with me. Send me a pic or post it on Theboxqueen Facebook? Have a great Friday, XOXO, Elif

  • I love those slouchy pants! Normally I shy away from prints on pants, but those look like they could be fairly versatile and what a bonus that they are comfy too! I hope you’re having fun on your travels. The photos are gorgeous!

    xo, Erika

    • It’s great to hear from you Erika! I hear you in terms of printed pants, they can be tough. These ones are surprisingly easy to wear and are actually flattering. A winning combo for me. 🙂 Thanks lovely, I am excited to take pics in unique places. Have a happy Friday. XOXO, Elif

  • Beautiful scenery! Love the slouchy pants! They look so chic and comfy and I’m sure look just as amazing dressed up! The print on the shorts is really pretty and the top with the studs and open back adds such interesting detail. Hope you are enjoying your summer!

    • I did use the pants in a fancier outfit and they looked really nice with lace open toe booties and a more glam top. 🙂 Thx Jill, my summer has been really fun so far, and I have been traveling more than I did for a while seeing a lot of loved ones. Hope yours have been great and relaxing too. Have a wonderful Friday, XOXO, Elif

    • Thx Rebecca. Those printed pants are my closets new rock stars :-)) Hope your are enjoying your summer. XOXO, Elif

  • I loke both of your outfits. I love slouchy printed trousers, you’ve styled them well wearing just a neutral up top, love the cut out at the back. I also like your navy and gold shorts which look a bit like a skirt. Lovely styling too

    • Thx Lorna. I really enjoyed styling and wearing both pieces. The prints added great interest to my summer wardrobe. 🙂 Have a fab Friday. XOXO, Elif

  • Jess

The scenery and the stores you visited look wonderful. I love both outfits. I really like the pic in front of the green door. Your shorts are so pretty, love the unique print on then and that you chose a white top to emphasize the shorts. Pretty
    from the link up,
    please stop by, jess

    • You noticed the green door 🙂 It’s one of my favorites that door. Had fun taking pics in front of it. I thought the white more classic top would ground the super fun print shorts. Thanks Jess <3 Have a great Friday, XOXO, Elif

  • Oooooooh, those pants are my new favourite thing ever! I’ll totally trade you something for them when you don’t want them any more!
    : signe : the daily savant :
