How busy is this weekend! My kids are starting school the coming Tuesday. It’s pretty out of the ordinary too as my middle one is switching to Kindergarten in another location of his preschool of two years, and youngest is starting up for the first time in her big brother’s old school.

They are both very excited, and nervous for the changes ahead. Not only that, but my oldest
will be in 4th grade this year. I know that is when things get a bit more serious in elementary school. The whole weekend has been a big rush driving from one store to another to complete their school supplies list, trying to find the evasive items 🙂 There has also been trips to IKEA, and Pottery Barn Kids to get their rooms ready for a study conductive environment.

In this mad rush, this fashion loving momma didn’t have much time to shop the Labor Day sales; that’s until today. After I am done writing, I am making myself a cup of tea, getting in front of my computer, and shopping the sales I am sharing with you above, and at the end of the post.

Right now it’s all about a slow fall transitioning for me. As much as I am not ready to be done with summer, start of school year ( and reading September Instyle issue – my favorite magazine of all time – love the fall encyclopedia 🙂 ) signals that start of fall is unstoppable. If you can’t beat them, join them I say when it comes to rain, and dark skies. I’ll be on the lookout for pieces I can wear in the fall that I can easily layer, and turn into cold weather outfits come winter.

I am SO in love with the heart sweater, pleated skirt, and green vest from the above list. I think all three of those items will be perfect for now, and later. If you have your eye on any sale items at the ever lovely Anthropologie, they have an extra 20% off on sale items. This discount is reflected at checkout and really helps with the high priced items that of course are beyond gorgeous.

Per the theme of this week, I have my fall transition uniform to share with you gals. One of the first outfits I start wearing immediately at the end of summer, are my skinny jeans. This particular one has a thicker fabric perfect for cooler weather. I like that I can easily fold the cuffs to make it look a bit more easy going with my navy Mary Jane pumps from Loft.

One of my all time staples that signal the beginning of leaves falling, is plaid shirts. I am in love with this soft, and pretty plaid Marine Layer was so kind to send me. Marine Layer is a SF based company that also has a branch in my city, and a lovely online shop.

They make their products in California, out of ridiculously soft fabrics, and also in small batches so you don’t see a million of the same tee everywhere. (which I do appreciate) This won’t be the last time you’ll see me in their clothes- I love soft, cozy fabrics, and their fit is right on too.

Style Tip: Spice up your classic jeans, and plaids with some color, and fun elements. I added on a pink bow belt, bright cobalt Mary Jane’s, and a silver long necklace to add an element of surprise to an otherwise a classically preppy outfit.

The accessories, including the multi- toned ring, is from my trusted monthly jewelry sub Wantable.  I like two tone gold/silver accessories as I believe in mixing up the two colors of metals for a more modern look. Before I go back to organization craziness, and start my online shopping, I want to leave you ladies with my favorite Labor Day sales. Hope you find something you like as well. 🙂

All the pieces in this series speak to me. If I have to choose i would pick the plaid skirt and the tote. BTW I have the same belt in gold and loving it. The bow on mine is a little narrower. 🙂 you look beautiful as always. That hair style is lovely.

I don’t want summer to end but fall is coming. It is getting cold . People choose their colors according to seasons in the U.S. I want to use every color every season! Unfortunately I did not go shopping last weekend. I did what you did. Anyway I like your style as usual! Those are the shoes I like your the best!

    • Every day when I am leaving the house I think it’ll be chilly but the last couple days have really been on the warmer side. In any way, I am mentally ready for fall fashion 🙂 And those shoes are one of my faves as well. Love navy/cobalt. Have a wonderful Friday love, XOXO, Elif
