November is a special month for me. Yesterday was my birthday, ( was such a fun day, I’ll share in my everyday series soon) and in a couple days it’s my oldest daughter’s birthday. I also love that November is the start of holidays like Thanksgiving, and brings us closer to the New Year. Stitch Fix is one of the many things that made my first weeks of the month
If you’ve just joined us here at TheBoxQueen, first of all a huge welcome! Please start your reading with my previous Stitch Fix Reviews as you’ll find a lot of info on what Stitch Fix is, how to get your best fix, and see how I remix some of my past pieces, multi-tasking them in my closet.
I started playing “TheBoxQueen’s Stitch Fix Mystery Game” a couple months ago. I give you some clues on what I thought of each piece, and in comments you let me know which piece(s) you think I kept, and which piece(s) are your favorites? I want to combine my love of November with my love of mystery this month, and play the game once again. Want to join in? Great; let’s begin! 🙂
Here is a quick recap on How I Choose My Keeper Stitch Fix Items:
- The piece has to be suitable for mixing & matching with a variety of tops and bottoms in my closet. I don’t keep pieces that’ll be worn only once.
- Depending on my needs, the piece may need to be season appropriate. There definitely are exceptions to this as I work hard for my pieces to trascend fashion rules. I also love to challenge myself by finding new ways to winterize summer clothes.
- I usually have a budget in mind. It makes more sense to me to either keep one or two pieces from my Stitch Fix or the whole box. This is the most financially sound way to use Stitch Fix service. Keeping three or four items rarely make sense because keeping all five items gets you 25% off.
Ready to begin? Here we go. Don’t forget to look for the clues. 😉
My first two pieces out of the November box looked pretty much perfect together so I made an outfit out of them.
RD Style Shermineh Faux Leather Detail Ponte Pant ($64) & Kensie Jordan Floral Print Sleeveless Blouse ($48)
Style Tip: I think this lovely pant with faux leather detailing on the sides worn with the eye- catching blue floral top, make a lovely holiday party look. For all the upcoming festivities, I want to start showing you party attire options, and this is a great example. A fitted pant like this one with modern details, a longer sleeveless top, a statement belt, and gold peep toe heels would be perfect for an office party, or a dinner party at your favorite restaurant.
I added the large leather cuff to emphasize the faux leather on the pants, and drop earrings for a bit of drama.
I adore the abstract pattern on the top.
Close-up of the faux leather detailing.
I do have a ton of legging/pants at home, and have beautiful left over sleeveless tops from summer. I could literally re-create this outfit using items that are already in my closet. However if you will order your first Stitch Fix, or are waiting on your next one, and are in need of a flattering slim fit pant, and a sleeveless top, request these pieces if you can. You won’t be sorry.
I topped this look with the Kut from the Kloth Jacket from my previous Stitch Fix. (seen here) You NEED this jacket, it is the BEST outerwear for your fancy outfits, and is on major sale. I seriously LOVE LOVE it!!
I like the brand of this anorak jacket. The asymmetrical cardigan I kept in my October Stitch Fix was Market and Spruce.
Market and Spruce Marbella Quilted Color Block Sleeveless Knit Anorak ($88)
The fit, length, and quality of the knitted jacket is wonderful. I would wear it over any everyday outfit, quite like these pants, wedges, and sweater combo. It would be a lovely lightweight jacket for picking up my kids from school, or walking my dog.
One thing you may know about me by now is that I live in the super wet, always raining NW. This jacket is not fancy enough for me to wear over outfits I like to wear say to a lunch, shopping, or an exhibition. For me it would be more to wear outside on errands; and to run errands I am under the rain a lot. ( like going to the post office, strolling with Daisy, or walking my oldest daughter to school) The jacket is unfortunately not waterproof.
The necklace is Wantable. (my reviews here)
This sweater is cool! Simply put. It is also pink, has a chiffon detail totally unexpected with the knit, and has the comfiest fit. I’ll stick with my initial description tough. It really is cool!!
Kut From the Kloth Nadir Chiffon Trim Knit Top ($48)
What’s with me and Kut from the Kloth? It seems like every Stitch Fix lately I get a piece from this brand, and each time I gush about those pieces. This knit top is no different. I can’t find one wrong thing with it, my dear stylist Ishara rocked once again with the choice of this top.
The marl pink is very pretty. This necklace btw is once again from Wantable. I got it in one of my summer boxes but never got to review.
Style Tip: As you may have noticed from my Stitch Fix reviews, and styling series, I am a huge fan of mixing colors. I invite you to infuse your outfits with color as well. Usually contrasting colors that go nicely together work great. The pink, blue, and the yellow here can stand on their own, but also seamlessly transition from one to the other.
UPDATE: Found this reader favorite sweater that I kept here in two colors. As of Jabuary 2015 I still wear it frequently, and love it as much as the first day I received it.
As Stitch Fix also showed on the styling cards, the embroidered dress can easily be dressed up or down.
Brixon IVY Chevy Embroidered Detail Dress ($78)
Style Tip: The fabric of the embroidered detail dress is quite casual, and the dress has a nice fit. Not body hugging but fitted in all the right parts. A dress like this is an excellent foundation to build up a layered outfit from. Just add a fitted jacket like this faux leather white studded one to balance out the cuteness of the dress with some edge, add your favorite scarf, and boots.
My choice of boots here in the land of rain is my beloved Hunter boots. If you too live where it rains a lot, run, not walk, to order one of these beauties as they withstand the test of time ( mine is a couple yrs old) and go with absolutely anything, and everything. Some of my other favorite Hunter boot colors are red, and green.
I also added crochet trimmed long socks to peak out from the top of my Hunters.
One thing to note is that this dress has short sleeves. Not super season appropriate. It is also not the best priced piece.
I update my Pinterest Stitch Fix board frequently with new items, and my outfits. You can find it here.
You’ve seen all of my November Stitch Fix, and read all the info you will need as clues. My dear ladies, what do you think? Which piece(s) are your favorite? Which piece(s) do you think I kept? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts in the comments. So curious what you all will guess.
I’ll update everyone in about a week.
Looking for a holiday gift for your mom, sister, or best friend? Stitch Fix also has gift cards available.
Looking for a gift for yourself just because? ( My favorite kind) Gift yourself a Stitch Fix , host your friends over tea, and enjoy the box together looking through your pieces. Each fix gets better as your stylist gets to know you more. ( Actually one of my good friends is waiting on her first Stitch Fix, and I’ll be going over to her house to see her box soon – will share 🙂 )
