When you have a box full of ultra comfy fabrics, gorgeous colors, a lot of lycra, spandex, and a variety of other materials that are soft and functional what do you call it? Well Wantable Fitness Edit of course! 🙂
I was given the option of trying out the newfitness styling service by Wantable, and I jumpedon the offer with sheer excitement. As most of you know, I do get boxes of regular clothes, lifestyle boxes, and beauty boxes, however this would be the first time I try a personal styling service just for fitness clothes.
You may also know I am a fitness nut, (see my fitness section) and it’s no secret I love fashion. Combine my two interests, and it was almost guaranteed I would enjoy a box full of fitness pretties I can keep for seven days to try at home.
(All my other Wantable reviews can be found here– accessories & make-up)
HERE IS HOW WANTABLE FITNESS EDIT WORKS
1) Very similar to Stitch Fix ( my reviews here ) Wantable Fitness Edit is a personal styling service where you get a box of clothes chosen especially for you based on your style profile. It is a subscription however you choose to try just one box, or to receive it on a monthly basis.
2) Fitness Edit allows you to try your pieces before you buy. You get 5 pieces in your box you try on at home at your own convenience, mix & match with items from your fitness closet, and keep for 5 whole days. I find 5 days to be very generous for this type of service. Absolutely love this feature.
3) As with any Wantable subscription, you only get pieces that meet your style preferences. In the Fitness Edit, because it is not a keep all subscription like accessories, make-up, and intimates, you also get to set the price points you are comfortable with. You get to choose on your style profile what you never want to receive, and Wantable honors that. For instance I don’t wear shorts to the gym, and asked not to receive any.
4) The styling fee is $20. It is non-refundable, however it fully applies to your purchase of Fitness Edit pieces when Wantable bills you for what you keep. There are tiered discounts when you purchase more of your pieces. You receive an additional 20% off when you keep 3-4 items, or 30% off when you keep all 5.
5) At the time being Wantable Fitness Edit only ships to United States. Shipping is free both ways. Enclosed in your box is a return label you stick to your box for returns.
In my experience receiving a box full of fitness apparel has been pure joy. ( I think you’ll see that this reflected on my pics LOL) Let’s take a look at the brands, and type of clothes I received. As always I am including details on why I kept the piece I did, and why I sent back the others.
Be Up Wrap ($79) & Be Up Supreme Legging ($69)
I’ve never heard of Be Up brand before. It’s extra nice when subscription boxes introduces you to brands you haven’t tried yet. Both this turquiose wrap, and patterned fitness leggings are from Be Up, and I must say I like them both. Not only are they stylish, but they are also extremely comfortable. The wrap is super soft, and just look at those leggings. Absolute fun!
STATUS: SENT BACK
Let’s be honest. Other than one piece that didn’t really matched my taste, I could have kept almost everything. I did love both of these pieces. They could be worn alone with pieces from my own closet, and would also work as a complete outfit together.
The reason I sent them back is due to my goal of keeping only items I need, and would wear over & over. You know me. I shop. A lot. This goal keeps me in line. My intention was to keep one item I couldn’t be without from this box. These two were gorgeous, but I had my eye on another piece. 🙂
Close-up of the wrap, and leggings. If you are looking for a patterned legging, and a well made wrap, I would ask Wantable whether you could request these two.
You can run in these. <3
And have a rest after the run in a beautiful spot to drink your morning tea.
Body Language Sportswear Ruffle Hoodie Neutral ($52) & Jala Cut Leggings ($68)
Here are two other brands I’ve never seen before receiving my Wantable Fitness Edit box. Pretty much all the brands in this box are totally new to me. ( minus the NUX hoodie)
STYLE TIP: I thought the ruffle hoodie, and the Jala cut leggings looked nice paired together. I matched them with my UGG boots as this outfit felt more like a casual day type of look than true gym clothes. Don’t be afraid to use your fitness clothes with casual booties, or rain boots ( like these ones) to keep on stretching the use of your fitness gear. You can truly incorporate these pieces into your daily life. I wear my UGGS, or Hunter’s under my gym clothes, take gym shoes with me in a bag, and when I am done switch back to regular shoes for an outfit I run errands in.
STATUS: SENT BACK.
The legging has holes on the sides up & down. It is made of a very comfortable fabric, however putting it on feels a bit awkward as you need to watch out for the holes. Most importantly as a mom of three this legging felt a bit risqué for my taste. I couldn’t imagine strolling out of the house like this in front of my girls. It was the only item from Fitness Edit that was easy to send back.
The hooded ruffle top was actually something I would wear pretty frequently. The only reason it went to the send back pile was it’s almost square, straight down shape. I felt like it needed to nip in just a bit around the waist to look nicer on my body type. (smaller upper body) It could work on other body types though. It’s one of those pieces that you could easily sleep in, and be so content. ( translation: SO SOFT 🙂 )
You see what I mean with the side holes. A bit too much? What do you think?
Cecilia Hoodie by NUX ($72)
Wantable sent me pieces that could truly be mixed, & matched with each other. The Cecilia Hoodie & Be Up Supreme Leggings looked really cute together too. I totally credit my Fitness Edit stylist for choosing a micro collection in a box for me. I don’t know whether they aim for this in each box but I sure LOVE the convenience.
The Cecilia Hoodie is in one of my favorite colors, fuchsia, and I know & wear the brand NUX. More importantly the hoodie is a true throw over anything, and go kinda piece. Love transitional items that are cute enough to wear to the gym, and lunch with friends after. . It doesn’t hurt that the hoodie has thumbholes. Very cool. It made me jump with joy. 🙂
There was no way this hoodie was going back. I trust the brand, it has many features that satisfy my versatility goal ( can be worn in & out of the gym in several outfits), and the colors is flattering on my olive skin tone which is a huge bonus. I found NUX Cecilia hoodie in a variety of colors including mine here if you feel like you have a use for it in your closet as well.
STYLE TIP: Make sure to pay attention to color. There are particular hues that complement our skin tones, and choosing those colors over others will make any piece look more made for us.
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: I had the best time receiving, and styling my first Wantable Fitness Edit pieces. It is always nice to receive clothes personalized for you, and in this case I think the service is unique that those clothes are fitness oriented.
What do you ladies think of my Wantable Fitness Edit box? Have you tried the service yet?
If you are not sure whether to try the subscription, I say go for it. The Fitness Edit is a super fun way to get some extra exercise motivation. When I wear pretty fitness clothes I always feel more energized to workout. You don’t really make any commitment either. You have the option of trying just one box, and the styling fee of $20 is credited towards your purchase(s). Nice package to receive in the mail!!
