Fix #21 came on the day we were leaving for our four day ski trip. ( see how I packed for it here) Can we take a moment and talk about what’s happening with me & my Stitch Fix’s lately? 🙂 My December Stitch Fix came right before our Victoria, BC trip, and this one arrived right when we were leaving for Sunriver. In fact my husband had to turn the car, as we sawour mailman walking to our mailbox with the familiar white/green Stitch Fix box. I am so glad I was able to take my box with me, and didn’t miss out on keeping my items for three days.
If you’ve found TheBoxQueen with this review, you may want to start by reading my previous Stitch Fix reviews. Here you’ll find a very detailed Stitch Fix section. You can find ALL the information you need on how Stitch Fix works, ideas on how to get your best fix based on my experience, and all my pieces shown in outfits with styling tips. It’s a very comprehensive guide to learn everything you need about this super fun personal styling service.
In this February edition, you’ll see each of my pieces in styled outfits as usual, and will find why I sent back, or kept the items under the pics.
Analisse Anorak Jacket, and Evie Funnel Neck Sweatshirt were the first two items out of my February Stitch Fix box. I’ve pinned the anorak on my Pinterest Stitch Fix Board, ( You can find new SF offerings, and my own Stitch Fix outfits there.) and was pleasantly surprised to find it included in my fix. I thought the two items paired nicely together.
Loveappella Evie Draw String Funnel Neck Sweatshirt ($64) & Pixley Analisse Anorak Jacket ($88)
I finished off my look with one of my absolute favorite Stitch Fix purchases; the red Kut from the Kloth pants ( on sale here, in a variety of colors.) Since I received these pants from Stitch Fix, I bought them in two more different colors.
I promised to find you same, or similar options of my pieces from online retailers in case you don’t get your faves from Stitch Fix upon request. You can always write a note to your stylist, asking for specific pieces. It’s not guaranteed, but in my experience Stitch Fix honors my requests if they still have those certain items in stock. They keep their collection fresh with new items, and brands; the reason requests may not be available.
Check out these Anoraks. Both similar, and great choices.
1) Anorak option- Adorable. & 2)Super similar anorak option at a great price.
My favorite funnel neck sweaters:
1) Very similar and on Major sale, 2)The Topshop One & 3) Cute sweatshirt for everyday
The funnel neck sweatshirt has drawstring around the neck, and a cool front pocket.
How the anorak looks zipped up.
Anorak: SENT BACK
The Anorak was actually really cute. I loved that it was lightweight, perfect to wear over heavier knits, and I also liked the looser fit that could be adjusted with the drawstrings on the bottom. I already kept a very similar piece from Stitch Fix last year though. ( You can see it in this post) Unfortunately this one didn’t feel that much different than my initial SF purchase. They both even have similar arm styles.
Funnel Neck Sweatshirt : SENT BACK
I LOVE Funnel neck sweatshirts, and for this reason already have a couple neutral ones similar to this one. I give it thumbs up though. I would have kept it if I didn’t already own similar styles. I do recommend a Funnel sweatshirt/sweater if you don’t own them already. Love the laid-back look.
The Skies are Blue dress had ruffle front and it came in my very favorite color, purple! I really like how Stitch Fix styled the dress in the casual outfit on the left.
Skies are Blue Lucienne 3/4 Sleeve Ruffle Detail Dress ($78)
This dress has a great blousey fit. I like the length, and LOVE the color.
Style Tip: Try matching purple with red. Purple does contain red in it ( Blue +red). Purple & red go beautifully together. I used red pumps with my dress, and loved the vibrancy the two colors created.
STATUS: SENT BACK.
We went to Sunriver with friends, and this dress was everyone’s favorite when I was taking pictures. I really really liked it too, and it was the biggest contender after my ultimate pick. When it came to decision making, knowing I would keep just one piece, it came down to what I need in my closet.
I always say I need more of multi-taskers in my wardrobe, and at this point I thought I had enough blousey dresses. Which brings me to my keeper item below. Oh I LOVE it!! 🙂
This unique print open cardigan can so easily be dresses up or down. It’s a casual piece but also is something special with the contemporary lace print.
Fate Lynette Drape Front Cardigan ($58)
My stylist Ishara has hit the jackpot with this choice; or should I say I hit the jackpot receiving this beauty in my fix!
I LOVE the brand Fate. I’ve got a couple items from them, and historically these items have been work horses of my closet worn many times over the years. I found so many cute pieces from the brand for you at Nordstrom Rack at huge discounts. Make sure to check them out.
This cardigan made me feel playful. It has a really cute back too.
Style Tip: When your outfits have pretty back views, they deserve to be shown. Style your hair in a simple bun, or if you are wearing something fancy, into an updo. I love outfits with interesting backs. Makes the look much more special.
STATUS: VERY HAPPILY KEPT!!!
I couldn’t NOT keep this cardigan. It’s charming, casual but chic, and I know I can match it with so many of my own pieces. I envision wearing it over dresses, and various leggings. This lovely cardigan is joining my other favorite Fate pieces.
Again my pants! I can’t sing praises for them enough. Exact same pants, best ever! On 50% SALE!! Kept from a previous Stitch Fix seen here, and also here.
In case you can’t get your hands on this particular Fate open cardigan, here are some other open cardigans I like. Great drape front open cardigan option, & an Embroidered Option on Sale.
Fun2Fun Selena Chevron Print Blouse ($44)
My last piece in my February Stitch Fix was this Chevron blouse. Stitch Fix styled it casually, and for a night out.
I already have an almost identical style of this blouse at home. The plain one I have from Ruche is one of my favorite tops to wear over skinny jeans.
STATUS: SENT BACK.
As I stated above, I have a very similar blouse in my closet, and I have countless chevron tops. This top is cute but it wouldn’t be smart of me to keep it for said reasons.
UPDATE: You can get similar jewelry like mine from Wantable accessories box, now 30% off with this special link until 02/28. (make-up & accessories included as well) Great time to stock up on accessories.
UPDATE 2: Find my most recent March 2015 Stitch Fix review here.
Here is my April 2015 Stitch Fix review.
Receiving Stitch Fix is one of the highlights of my month. I love the brands they carry, love trying the pieces with my own items at the comfort of my home, and like the convenience of sending back what doesn’t work in a prepaid envelope. Getting my Stitch Fix box is my happy “me time”. <3
Have you treated yourself to Stitch Fix yet? What is your favorite item you got from the service so far? Would love to hear your thoughts.
