Good evening my dear Ladies. Tonight I am very excited to start a brand new series called ” Go Shopping with TheBoxQueen”. You know by now that I love putting together my best picks boards from various retailers I frequent. I thought of a new concept where I can show you my picks, but also model them in person at the stores ( with online branches. This way all of you can shop if you like an item you see) so you can see the pieces on, and have different views of how they look.

In each edition of the series I’ll first share my picks from the retailer followed by my dressing room mirror selfies. I’ll also let you know which items I ended up buying, or consider purchasing. I hope, like all my series, this will be interactive. Please let me know if there are stores you would like me to visit, and show the latest of. You can leave me a message here, find me on social media, or email me. 🙂 Let’s get started with this week’s store.

In the NW, where I live there are plenty of Nordstrom department stores. It’s funny that I usually shop online with them. Love their online exclusives, the easy search option that narrows down the thousands of apparel, and the best of all shipping is free, always. Bonus points to Nordstrom: You can return your online purchases to Brick & Mortar stores.

You’ll probably see me go to Nordstrom plenty of times, as I know the store is universal for most of my readers. ( and they replenish their stock frequently)  Nordstrom carries so many of my favorite brands, along with smaller, trendier ones, and they ship all over the world.

This week I found some great winter, and spring items I can’t wait to show you.

BLANKNYC Sugar Baby Denim Shirt ($78)

This denim shirt by BLANKNYC caught my eye immediately in the store. The sales associate who helped me said this shirt is new, and is flying off the shelves. Here is how it looks with my skinny jeans, and close-up.

Style Tip: The shirt is longer on the back, and the front has a unique, almost a half wrap hem. It’s so lovely over skinny’s, and also over dresses, and skirts for a variety of outfits. You can also wear it over a tunic tank top with leggings.

I ended up buying this shirt. Not only is it perfect for the on trend denim on denim look, but it’s shape is like nothing in my closet. Totally recommend.

PicMonkey Collage (3)TOPSHOP Crepe Layering Dress ($150) & TOPSHOP Jersey V Neck Tee ($20)

As soon as I saw this dress I was drawn to the color, and thought it was quite interesting. The Crepe dress is a beautiful V-neck front & back dress, that you wear over a tank top, a tee, or even a shirt. Unexpected, and modern.

Style Tip: Use a basic jersey tee like the one you see above under the dress. The design details on this dress is lovely. I especially love the back slit, ruffle on one side, and the straight fit. A basic piece, and this original dress will make a great pair, and will have the perfect balance of styles.

I didn’t leave the store with the dress, as I thought I couldn’t justify the price tag. I’ll be on the lookout for this piece online to grab it when it goes on sale. 🙂

IMG_8279TOPSHOP Check Contrast Sweater ($58) & BLANKNYC Utility Pants ($68)

Plaid is a “never out of style” print, a classic in my book. It is however more hip, more “in” than ever this winter. This sweater with plaid back, and pocket caught my eye, and I thought it would look great with the fitted utility pants.

I immediately bought the utility pants. They have the most amazing fit ever, and has just the right amount of edge. Wholeheartedly recommend them. <3

TOPSHOP Check Contrast Sweater ($58)

This is a close-up of how the sweater looks in the back. I almost wanted this piece to be a bit bolder in color. I need to admit the neutral grey goes with everything though.

PicMonkey Collage (1)TILDON Print Shift Dress ($58) & Wayf Long Sleeve Wrap Dress ($60)

Two of my favorites from my Nordstrom trip were these two dresses. I love the liveliness, and color in both. The shapes are obviously different. The Tildon Print is a shift dress, and the Wayf one a wrap. I need your help on this one ladies!! I’ll go back for one of these pretties, and I still can’t choose. I also asked this question on TheBoxQueen Instagram, and got positive responses for both. Which one do you think I should buy lovelies?

I truly recommend both dresses for you all looking for a fun dress you can layer with tights now, and wear alone in spring. They were both true to size, and had comfy fits.

TOPSHOP Split Back Duster ($110)

Ok this duster looked very promising on the hanger. I couldn’t get a good picture of the back, but it is very unique being split in the middle.  I thought I would look really cool in it, but it didn’t quite turn out that way LOL. It has the potential to look cute with high heel boots, leggings, and a contrasting color skin tight top under. ( which I didn’t have with me) Passed.

Tildon Tape Pullover ($58)

A great everyday pullover that has a nice texture. I pulled mine down completely so you can see the length of the knit ( on a 5 5′ body), however it looks very current tucked in a bit in the front. Lovely piece!!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of the new “Go Shopping” series, and look forward to learn which stores you would like me to visit to show you my best picks. <3

I think both dresses looks so cute it is hard to make a decision but I like the shift dress a little better because the colors are amazing.

    • Theboxqueen

I know the shift dress has beautiful coloring going for it. I love the shape of the flower dress though. Haha. Too many cute things. Have a great weekend lovely! XOXO, Elif

  • Cheryl

Love this series- such a great idea! The majority of my shopping is online (my 2 y.o. doesn’t share my enthusiasm for shopping in stores haha) so I can live vicariously through you. 🙂 I love both dresses, but I think there is something so special about the Tildon shift. The colors are amazing!

    • Theboxqueen

Cheryl totally relate to you as I do 99% of my shopping online as well. For this series I was thinking, showing my picks from stores (that also have online branches) would be useful to see how a piece actually looks on a women’s body. I am SO happy to learn you like it!! Let me know if you can think of any stores you would like to see here. 🙂 Happy weekend dear. XOXO, Elif

  • Sibel Gultekin

I really like your new series! Great idea! I felt as if I went to a Fashion Show. The denim shirt is gorgeous. I have a very similar top in the same model, but different fabric (bought from Nordstrom). You should keep Tildon shift. I think it is more modern, and looks like abstract art.

    • Theboxqueen

I love wrap style shirts and have a couple myself. It was refreshing to see one in the denim fabric. 🙂 You like the shift? The pattern is so eye catching right? Ahh decisions, decisions haha. Happy Friday. XOXO, Elif

  • Tulay Ban

The blue dress! So pretty! I also liked the denim shirt. Very unique. I enjoy your new series. Hope to see more of it.

    • Theboxqueen

That’s the one I am leaning towards. 🙂 The flowers are so pretty. The denim shirt is something special I think. So happy to know you enjoyed. Let me know if there are any stores you would like to see here. 😉 XOXO, Elif

    • Theboxqueen

That dress is very modern; I loved the design as well. Hopefully a Nordstrom will open up in your city soon. I can’t imagine not having a Nordstrom near LOL though their online store is fab too!! XOXO, Elif

  • Knowing me, I would go home with the duster from TopShop!

    • Theboxqueen

The duster looked like an amazing idea on the hanger to me too. It didn’t look as I imagined on me but with the right shoes/accessories has so much potential. 🙂 XOXO, Elif

  • Lorna Mai Ltd

I just adore the navy wrap dress but I’ve never heard of Wayf which I expect means we won’t have them here in UK. It’s such a good idea to model these clothes. Love Topshop!

    • Theboxqueen

I am envious of you all in UK with so many Topshops around. 🙂 When I lived in Europe it was one of the stores I stopped by all the time. I recently discovered the brand Wayf in Nordstrom, but I think Nordie’s online store ships worldwide. ( not sure of the shipping fees though) XOXO, Elif

  • Daily Express

Fitting room reviews are so helpful. Great selections here. I am loving your gray ripped skinny jeans that you are wearing in these pics. Where are those from?

Gina – On the Daily Express

    • Theboxqueen

The jeans are Free People’s destroyed jeans from last year. To this day they are one of my favorite jeans, love the fit. Glad to hear you like fitting room reviews; I had a great time with this post. Always nice to chat with you Gina! XOXO, Elif
