LITTLE LACE BOX REVIEW – APRIL 2015

I would like to give you a little background info on the updates Little Lace Box made to keep their subscription unique, high quality, and a great value while keeping things in working order.

Little Lace Box  had gone through a challenging period back in February when their items were hold up due to winter storms. The company also has endured some growing pains as many successful subscriptions do.  Little Lace Box sent their subscribers an email letter explaining their changes that’ll hopefully keep their boxes fabulous. Here is a quick summary:

  • The company decided to make LLB a bi-monthly subscription. I am happy to report their subscription opened up to new subscribers  as a result. As they state in their letter, the goal is to give their suppliers more time, and to keep the box high-end.
  • You can still get loyalty points from your Little Lace Box subscription and purchases. You will automatically receive one LLB point for each dollar spent in LLB online boutique or with their subscription box. For every 50 points you accumulate, you receive a LLB reward dollar that you can spend on any item in our online boutique. Points can be tracked by looking at your online account.
  • The Little Box subscription options available are – A single Box , Six Months of Little Lace Box ( three boxes), or Twelve Months of Little Lace Box. (six boxes) You already save 10% with a Twelve month subscription. See below for an additional discount. 🙂

LITTLE LACE BOX REVIEW – APRIL 2015

Let’s get started with the April box! April’s theme was Nonna’s Kitchen, inspired by the grandmother of the three Little Lace Box ladies. I have to mention right here how much I enjoy the letters that come within the boxes. I feel like the sisters are talking to me, and this makes the experience much more genuine and warm for me.

Good News!! I have a special coupon code for six or twelve month subscriptions. Use code TBQ10 to get $10 off your subscription.  June box theme will be “Classy and Fabulous” all about fashion and style. A HUGE YAY!!

In this month’s letter they talk about their grandma’s habits around the kitchen, how they watched her making food there, and chose their products accordingly mostly around an Italian theme. Although I am not Italian, I also come from a Mediterranean background. Most of the items they included/ their stories have been a part of my life growing up as well. ( especially good olive oil, a close relationship with my grandma, family dinners around a big table)  which made me even more excited.

Gourmet Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar from The Ancient Olive ( $13.99)

This duo is so cute and are a feast for your taste buds. I’ve got the Milanese Gremolata Flavor Infused Olive Oil, and the Sicilian Lemon Balsamic Vinegar. As the explanation also states, the olive oil flavor is perfect with slow braised dishes. I tried it with a slow cook lamb dish. The vinegar goes great as a part of salad dressing. Lovely pair.

Trentasette Red Pesto with Truffles Sauce ( $8.50 )

The red pesto sauce has a lot of ingredients I love such as fresh basil, peppers, garlic, olives and it definitely packs a punch. I served it as an appetizer to guests with crusty bread over the weekend, and it was a hit. I also plan to use it as a sauce with the pasta that was included in my Little Lace Box. Delicious!

Porcelain Jewelry Dish by Artisan Janelle Beaulieu ($14.99)

On April’s letter, one of my favorite parts was where the sisters were talking about how their grandma used to put her rings on a dish next to the sink. The porcelain jewelry dish was inspired by this memory. There were two versions, glazed, and unglazed. I got the unglazed one. I think I’ll use it as a soap dish in our master bathroom.

Olive Oil Dipping Bowls – by Le Cadeaux ($15.99)

These olive oil dipping bowls made the box for me. They each have vintage Italian designs, and are so adorable as a part of an appetizer tray, or table setting. You can see the pasta that came in the box in them in the above picture. ( as I couldn’t resist photographing those two together LOL) I’ll of course use these cuties filling them up with the basil olive oil coming up in the mail. ( see below)

Filotea Pennette della Domenica from Marx Foods ($8.99)

Filotea pasta uses premium ingredients, and is made with slower techniques while being produced. As a result the pasta has a rich flavor, cooks faster, and the sauce clings to it better. My family loves a good pasta dish, and I am saving this for a family meal.

Cucina Dish Soap from Fruits & Passion ($8.99)

I always notice the scent of kitchen, and laundry products first, and this one has a scent right up my alley with lime undertones. It’s also biodegradable. The dish soap has already found its place next to my sink.

Market List Notepad by Brianna – Little Lace Box ($4.99)

One of the Little Lace Box sisters, Brianna designed the market list notepad to make a variety of lists, especially a “to buy” list. Always useful, and will be kept on hand on my kitchen counter.

One Full-Size Ancient Olive Oil or Balsamic Vinegar ($13.99)

Like all the above products were not enough, I was excited to learn we also get a full size bottle of either olive oil, or balsamic vinegar with a code that came in the April Little Lace Box letter to the subscribers. The makers of the products also had delays, and as a result we got to order the bottles directly. I don’t know how they would fit these in the boxes anyways. I chose the basil olive oil and and can’t wait to taste it.

I was so thrilled with this month’s box. Amazing curation, and, coming from an Italian background I could relate to the sisters’ stories. 🙂 I also chose the basil olive oil, can’t wait! The theme for the next box sounds great as well. 🙂

    • Theboxqueen

I felt the same way. The sisters stories felt so familiar to me from my own childhood, and the curation and items were excellent. How lovely you chose the basil olive oil too. <3 It sounded amazing right? Mine should arrive soon yayyy!!! Next box most likely will be right up our alley as well. Exciting exciting. 🙂 XOXO, ELIF

  • Sibel Gultekin

It is a really nice box. I prefer olive oil drizzled with balsamic vinegar and rustic bread before an Italian meal! If I had this kitchen towel, I could not use it because of my son. He loves anything related to cars, trucks.

    • Theboxqueen

Ahh an Italian meal, and some olive oil, balsamic and rustic bread sounds so good right now. 🙂 It’s so cute that you would need to give the towel to your son haha; I think he would enjoy the print for sure as a car fan. Happy Thursday. XOXO, Elif

  • Talba1

Such a nice box! There is nothing i would not use in the box. The cute cups are just the right size for my daughter.

    • Theboxqueen

My feelings exactly. Everything in the box will get used/ or is already being used. 🙂 Those little bowls are so darling. XOXO, Elif

  • Holly E
