Ladies I hope you are all having a lovely long weekend, and Memorial Day. One of the fun things about holidays for us fashionistas, aside from the time we get to spend with family & friends, is the sales at various stores. One of my very favorites of those sales is the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale. Today I’ll share with you my best of picks of the #NSale, and an outfit featuring one of my most-loved purchases from it.
Leith | Floral Midi Skirt $52
Halogen® | Jeans $39
Enzo Angiolini | Sandal $59
Phase 3 | Straw Fedora $16
Lush | Knit Maxi Dress Coral $38
Lush | Knit Maxi Dress $38
Kendra Scott | Earrings $50
Vince Camuto | Sandal $71
Frenchi® | Tank $15
Sun & Shadow | Camisole $25
There are SO MANY lovely items in the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sales. To keep it true to the name of this series, I am sharing the best pieces at the most amazing deals. The best part is they are all under $100.
One of my best finds at the Nordstrom sale, is this Frenchi Tank. I bought it in a couple colors including the teal I showed above. This will be the perfect basic to throw over so many bottoms in summer. I also picked up the Sun & Shadow Camisole in the pretty blush color you can see in my best picks. Isn’t it really cute?
I am re-sharing the Lush Maxi. ( I’ve featured it once before when I initially bought it) This dress comes in beautiful colors, and is super comfortable ladies. You wouldn’t want to miss it, especially on sale. Take a look at the Jade version – so gorgeous!
I think no summer shopping would be complete without great accessories. I was so excited to find the Kendra Scott earrings on sale. The bright green would pair perfectly with many summer outfits. I also can’t get enough of the Vince Camuto embellished flat sandals. Arent’t they wonderfully glam?
Now onto the look I am sharing today with this uniquely designed Leith skirt that I adored from the moment I spotted it.
FROM THEBOXQUEEN’S CLOSET
Let me give you a little background on how this outfit came to be. I purchased this striped PopBasic top a couple weeks ago. If you’ve been reading TheBoxQueen for a while, you may remember that I like print mixing, especially when it’s stripes & flowers. To pair with my striped boat neck top, I was looking for an original flower print skirt.
When I saw this skirt I found more than what I was looking for. Not only was it a flower print, original piece, but it was also actually three dimensional. The tulle layer is covered with a confetti of colorful flowers. The skirt is also lined. I was immediately taken by this piece, and purchased it right away.
STYLE TIP: When you are pattern mixing the secret is in paying attention to details. You need to find one common feature/theme in your outfit to ground, and balance the busyness happening with the prints. It’s also a good idea to figure out the prints you like together. I always think stripes and flowers, or stripes and polka dots work lovely paired.
When I found this skirt, I noticed that it had blue mixed in the rainbow of colors. My cobalt striped top came to my mind, and I thought I could also wear my navy Mary Jane heels. The common element in my outfit balancing the patterns is the color blue.
Close-up of the intricate detailing, and the stunning color mix.
