I love playing up with the decoration of my living room almost as much as I love changing up my outfits, and refreshing my wardrobe. If you’ve been visiting TheBoxQueen for a while, you
know that is a HUGE statement LOL. I do small changes here, and there all the time to keep our living room visually appealing for us. Sometimes the changes are small, they are things that just my family can notice; and sometimes it’s a bit more obvious like the addition of a side table, or a new lamp. I want to share with you my 3 Ways To Spruce Up Your Living Room.

1) Liven Up A Corner with an Accent Table & Accessories

Over the years I’ve found that adding a nice table, and your favorite accessories to a corner livens up a living room immediately. I have this bay window area in my living room that I change up once in a while with a couple different accent tables, and accessories. This transforms the mood of the room easily, and I get to experiment with different textures, and colors.

I recently added this golden glass accent table in front of our bay window. I also have a bigger console table I usually use here. Lately I felt like I needed more open space tough, and decided to try a smaller accent table.

I added my must have’s, candles, and candle holders on a pink tray to add texture to the area. My daughter’s horse painting, a horse sculpture that was a gift from a dear friend, and a lamp with a unique design made this corner our own. As I love pink and gray together, I added a patterned gray rug as a base for my accent table.

If you want to change up the mood of your living room quickly, decorate a corner in a similar way with colors, textures, and accessories you love to see. It makes a world of difference.

2) Polish Your Wood Furniture

One thing that instantly revitalizes the look of a living room is polished furniture. Cleaning, and conditioning your wood/laminate pieces bring them to life, and beautify your space. I use Pledge Lemon Clean to clean mine, and love the result. It is great for sideboards, dinner tables, chairs, and accent tables. You can also use Pledge Lemon Clean on other surfaces such as marble, stainless steel, granite, and leather.

My sideboard is all clean, and shiny after it’s wiped off with Pledge Lemon Clean. I spray it on paper towels, and use it all over my wood furniture to make them look pretty. Emma is peaking from under the sideboard. What do you think ladies? I think she approves. 🙂

One concern with cleaning wood furniture is unintentionally stripping up the finish. I love that Pledge Lemon Clean is PH balanced, and cleans without stripping away the gorgeous finishes of your beloved wood pieces. The spray brings out the natural beauty of your surfaces by gently cleaning & shining them.

Look at that shine on my dining room table. It’s revived every time I condition it with Pledge Lemon Clean. It almost looks new.

I am a big fan of lemons. I use them in all my salad dressings, add them to my water, and definitely love their scent. It’s no surprise that I love to add the delightful lemon scent of Pledge Lemon Clean to my home. I don’t have to worry about harsh chemical smells, and really enjoy the lemon fragrance.

I think polishing your furniture periodically will help spruce up your living room as well.

3) Add Personal Touches To Your Walls

Another thing that helps spruce up a living room is adding personal touches not only to the floor area but also to the walls. For instance I love, and collect Iznik pottery. ( which is a very old art form of painting plates, bowls, tiles and such) This plate is a gift from my parents, and have a lot of meaning, and memory behind it. Adding personal touches to a living room makes it a warm, and inviting place for your family.

I would LOVE to hear your tricks and tips on how you revitalize your living rooms! Let me in your secrets ladies. 🙂

We have a large marble dining table and I change out the center piece area all the time – fresh seasonal candles, cool pottery pieces, new diffuser, etc.

    • Theboxqueen

That sounds lovely Jill. I love marble dining tables, and all the things you listed would be easy to switch up but would make a big change in the mood of the area. Thanks for sharing dear. Happy Friday. XOXO, Elif

I love seeing more of your home details. The pink and gold details are very pretty. I have a similar window. Thinking of doing a similar arrangement there. Pledge sounds like exactly what I need. My stainless steel gets fingerprints all the time. Thanks for sharing Elif!
