Hope you are all having a wonderful August ladies. My husband and I just came back from a two day Oregon Wine Country trip. Even two days there was enough to feel refreshed. 🙂
My August Wantable Style Edit came just in time before our trip. Some of my other previous boxes came around my travel times as well. ( Stitch Fix July, Stitch Fix February , and Stitch Fix December were all taken on trips with me ) Seems like if we are going on a vacation, it is almost certain that I’ll receive one of my clothing subscriptions haha.
Before I move onto my Wantable Style Edit August review, here is my Style Edit July review for all new readers. Welcome! I am so happy you are here! All my Wantable Subscription Reviews here including accessories, make-up & fitness.
First here is a quick summary of how Wantable Style Edit works:
- Similar to Fitness Edit (which I reviewed here) Style Edit also lets you try the items picked for you before you buy.
- It’s so much fun to fill out the style profile. You can see examples of what Style Edit sends, and choose what you want to receive & not receive. After you are done with your style profile you can order on the spot or order at a later date.
- You get 5 pieces picked for you by your stylist based on your style profile, and you can keep them for 5 days to try with your own clothes.
- The styling fee is $20 and fully credited towards your purchases. You can keep or send back any or all of the pieces with the enclosed prepaid envelope. If you keep everything you get 25% off. (similar to Stitch Fix )
- Although Style Edit is a subscription service, you can skip a month or months anytime.
- Currently Style Edit is only available to 50 US States.
- Style Edits sell out very quickly as the service is limited. I’ve been happy with both my boxes so far and think it’s definitely worth a try.
Ready to see each of my August pieces in detail? Let’s do it.
1) BB Dakota Maliyah Top ($65)
First out of my box was the BB Dakota Maliyah Top. (found here) It’s very stylish; longer at the back, shorter in the front. I think the design is modern, and cool especially with the easy to wear neutral colors.
Close up of the front.
You can see the design in more detail here. The snake bracelet is also from Wantable. I got it in one of my Wantable Accessories Boxes.
Status – Returned
At the moment I am in the process of building my transitional wardrobe. I loved this top however I thought it was too light for NW fall, and not easy to layer under cardigans with its varied length. Ladies if you live in warmer climates, I HIGHLY recommend it. The shape is special.
The back of the BB Dakota Top is perfect for wearing over leggings, or skinnies.
2) The Fifth Satisfaction Dress ($89)
I was excited to see this dress in my Wantable Style Edit. Can you guess why? Because I already have it!! 🙂 It meant that my stylist got my style taste down. <3 You can see the cobalt version here.
I even wore my own piece during a night out on our trip. I love to use the back like shown above with the straps shortened. You can also wear the dress with longer straps & back piece closer to your waist line.
The Fifth dress even has pockets. Always a pleasant addition to dresses.
I would have kept this dress; if I didn’t already own it that is 🙂 It’s perfect for date nights. My Wantable stylist made a great match. <3
3) French Connection Polly Plains Sleeveless Top ($38)
The French Connection tank is such a perfect basic top. ( I found it on major sale here) Not only did I wear it on my Wine Country trip, I have every intention to keep wearing it in the fall under cardigans. It’s a cheerful color, and the top is well-made. French Connection has lovely basics.
At my favorite gift shop. They also have a lavender field. Don’t the colors just pop in front of the gorgeous lavenders?
My bead necklace is another Wantable Accessories piece.
The back of the French Connection Tank has a lovely vertical strap detail.
As you may have guessed I kept my French Connection Top. It’s an easy to wear, versatile piece that can easily be layered under sweaters, and cardigans come fall & winter. I already started wearing it as a summer item. Love that this came in my Wantable Style Edit.
4) French Connection TimTim Stripe Dress ($78)
This pretty dress is another piece from French Connection. I love stripes, always did and always will. I styled this dress with another classic; modernized, layers of big pearls. I also added a black/white clutch.
The dress definitely has a va-va-voom factor but at the same time has the elegance of a classic due to the stripes, and the cut of the neckline.
I thought long and hard on this one. I wanted to keep the dress but at the same time could not rationalize it as I do have many striped dresses. I also honestly don’t wear skin tight dresses that much. In the end, I sent it back. If you are interested in a striped dress that hugs your curves in a classy way, this dress may be just the one for you.
5) Jack Chiffon Aimon Sleeveless Top ($50)
This chiffon top is definitely pretty. The pattern is gorgeous, the fabric is beautiful and the colors are eye catching. I paired it with an eyelet coral pink skirt, cobalt heels and a cobalt clutch.
Similar to the BB Dakota top I received in this Wantable Style Edit, the Jack tank is also shorter in the front and longer on the back. See a close-up of the pattern.
I returned this top for the same reason I returned the BB Dakota top. They are similar styles, and fabrics. I felt like although they are amazing for summer, right now I am looking for pieces that I can transition to cooler months. It is an AMAZING piece if you are still building your summer wardrobe tough and worth requesting.
Overall Impressions: My second Wantable Style Edit was fun and definitely matched my style profile. I am very happy with my keeper item and had a great time styling all the pieces I got. I think Wantable Style Edit is worth a try. Just fill out your style profile and see what you think of the sample styles shown. I like that Style Edit sends pieces that are current and actually sold in stores at the moment.
