Today, I am continuing to share my New Year mini goals and the improvements I am making in my everyday life. This week I’ve talked about a couple lovely hair, and beauty routine changes I’ve already implemented and today I want to discuss How To Have A Healthy Morning Routine.

I used to have the best morning routine. I grew up in a home where nutritious breakfasts were regarded so highly. I never remember leaving home without a good breakfast served at a bountiful table. My parents always said my body& mind needed the energy and that I would do much better with my studies if I ate a balanced breakfast every morning. I don’t know how much of an influence my morning meals had on it, but I actually was a really good student haha. Maybe they had a point. 🙂

Joking aside, breakfast has many benefits. It not only gives us the energy we need to function well, but it also boosts the metabolism which prevents overeating later in the day.

Since I had kids, and especially now that our family has a truly crazy schedule with so many activities going on in each of our lives, I feel like my morning routine, and my favorite meal of the day suffered. Some days I drop the kids off, some days I volunteer at their schools. There is always something going on in the early morning hours. I noticed that the past couple months, I’ve started skipping breakfast for the first time in my life.

I am making some changes in 2016. Instead of having the excuse that there is no time for breakfast at 7 am in the morning, I am fitting it in my current schedule instead.

Now I’ll tell you this. Everyone’s healthy morning routine will look different. Some of us are working at an office, some of us go to school, some are stay at home mothers, and some of us are work at home moms like me. Our morning routines won’t be identical. Still, we can all set the goal of eating a nutritious breakfast and  we can work it around our own lifestyle. <3

  1. In my mornings, I first drop my kids off to school. My priority in the morning is to make sure my children eat well, get dressed appropriate for the weather, and that they have their backpack, snacks, and homework ready. I use my very early morning time for them, and don’t bother with my own eating.
  2. After I come back home, I get a little exercise taking out the beautiful golden girl you are seeing above on a walk. This helps me refocus, and I enjoy getting some fresh air.
  3. I make myself a good breakfast. Sometimes it’s omelets, and sometimes it’s toast with goat cheese, and cherry jam. I make sure to add fruits to the mix usually raspberries, or blueberries.
  4. After these steps, comes my favorite part of the routine. I continue my morning with some lovely me time, treating myself to belVita Breakfast Biscuits  with my cup of morning tea. I eat one serving which equals to 4 crunchy belVita Breakfast Biscuits.

These delicious, crunchy biscuits remind me the childhood biscuits we ate with tea. I love that they are made with a combination of grains that are baked to release energy regularly throughout the morning. As a result belVita Breakfast Biscuits provide nutritious steady energy all morning, fueling your body. One of the best parts? They contain no high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors or artificial sweetener.

After a balanced breakfast, I really enjoy having this time to eat my yummy belVita Breakfast Biscuits , sipping my tea, and reading a book or a magazine. <3

In the above two pictures you’ll see the aisle and the shelf belVita Breakfast Biscuits are located at Target. I love that Target sells them. I am already there weekly anyways. Saying I LOVE that store may be an understatement. <3

What does your morning routine look like? Have you tried belVita Breakfast Biscuits  ? Aren’t they delicious? 🙂

You are right. Breakfast is so important. Your routine looks great. It’s a good reminder for me too to take care of myself in 2016.

Very happy to hear it inspired you to take care of yourself. I am trying my best to stick to a good morning routine, especially breakfast, to get ready for the long day ahead. Happy Sunday 🙂 XOXO, Elif

  • I think I would really enjoy the soft baked biscuits. I’ll have to try them out… with no high fructose corn syrup, they sound excellent. #client

They taste amazing too; all of the versions are yummy. <3 Definitely recommend them. Happy Sunday. XOXO, Elif

  • I agree, I was brought up being told breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I always try to eat it, even if sometimes I don’t have time for it. Hubby hardly ever has breakfast, I don’t know how he does it!

Me too. Noticing I skipped breakfast a couple times during the last months really made me stop and rethink my approach to morning eating & my schedule as it was so out of character. My husband is similar to yours but I am doing my best to get him to a good morning breakfast routine 🙂 Happy Sunday. XOXO, Ellif

I agree that breakfast is so important; I think it sets the tone for the whole day. I like having quick, on-the-go options some mornings so I will definitely check out belVita. 🙂

It does set the tone for the whole day, very well said my dear! On the go options are great for kids too. I take packages of these (especially golden oat) in my purse. XOXO, Elif

Breakfast is definitely the most important meal for my family as well. Tea is a must for me in the morning, and I also recall biscuits such as BelVita in my childhood days. They could be a great snack.
