I talk about my love for tea every chance I get here on TheBoxQueen, as drinking tea has always been such an important part of my life since my very young ages.I was raised in a family that did not start the morning without tea.
First thing in the morning, we would brew a big teapot of it and everyone in the family would
have a cup with their breakfast. In the afternoon, it was our ritual with my mom to have tea with the incredibly yummy cookies &cakes she bakes, over girl talk. We would even have evening tea after dinner when everyone would talk about their day.
Besides childhood habits, and family time, tea also represents bonding time with friends, as well as “me time”. It is a constant in my life that soothes my soul, it’s the drink that relaxes me, and makes me feel connected to who I am. Even my kids, and my usually coffee drinking husband know how much I enjoy tea time that when we are traveling to a tea drinking country, they reserve high tea at the nicest places as a gift to me. 🙂
Today I’ll share with you the latest three varieties of teas I’ve tasted and loved from a brand I always have in my tea collection; Lipton. I’ll also share an afternoon tea party outfit. (details under pic.)
One of my friends hold tea parties the past two years on the fictional Galantine’s day (Feb.13) which originated from one of her favorite TV shows. The husbands get together and have a guys day and us ladies have afternoon tea at her home. 🙂 It’s so fun, and a great time to celebrate friendship right before Valentine’s Day.
Style Tip: As this tea party was among close friends, and was a low key, fun event, I chose to wear my new striped skirt and warm & cozy red sweater. This outfit made me feel put together but it was still casual enough to be comfortable at a home setting. A layered necklace is effortless and added a bit of shine & sparkle.
The thick, opaque tights balanced the shorter skirt, and the booties kept the look fancy enough with their thin high heels.
I drink at least 6-7 cups of tea daily, and have a large collection. Lipton’s new Daring English Breakfast Tea has been a recent favorite. It has the perfect bold, unique aroma that wakes me up perfectly during, and after breakfast. This black tea also re-energizes me in the afternoon after a busy morning.
I also really like green, and herbal teas. They are the epitome of relaxation to me. Lipton has a wide variety of new herbal teas, and improved green teas. I love that everyone can find a flavor that appeals to their palate. My personal favorite is the Lemon Ginseng. Love lemon in everything, and this tea is flavorful without being overwhelming.
