This post is sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts in conjunction with Blog Meets Brand, all opinions are my own.

One type of clothing I’ve resisted for a while is sleeveless blazers/ tailored vests. I have all other styles of vests from faux fur and military inspired, to knit, and faux leather. Until now though, I’ve never owned a tailored sleeveless blazer.

Sometimes we all need to look at styles we don’t usually go for from a different perspective. Although I am usually adventurous with my fashion choices, I realized that once in a while I need to give certain pieces a chance before counting them out.

For me this was the classic silhouette of the double breasted, sleeveless vest which I kept seeing everywhere. These white, long vests are a big trend of the moment, and although they are modernized, at first look I felt like this style was too structured for me. Well I was wrong; I am pretty in love with this vest of mine. ( On Sale Right Now!)

I wore this outfit to an early afternoon get together with two friends I haven’t seen for a while due to distances. They were in town with their kids over the weekend, and we got to have lunch followed by donuts for the kids at our local favorite spot.

I wanted to look uptown chic, but comfortable enough for moving around easily with the kids. These dark navy jeans (my Stitch Fix keeper from this post) are timeless, and perfect at crop length. This option is similar and at a great value. I topped the denim with a pink spaghetti strap top to brighten up the look, and make it spring appropriate. I layered the camisole with a layered pearl necklace to add a bit of shine, and texture. (Check out this option under $15)

Grey suede pumps were neutral enough to pull the look together, and I love grey with pink, and white. The sleeveless blazer (now on sale) ended up being perfect for adding a stylish touch while maintaining the casualness.

As a family we eat healthy probably 90% of the time but one of the little treats we indulge in once in a while is donuts at our favorite place in Portland. Luckily, even if you are not in Portland, you can still find good Donuts at Dunkin’ Donuts which has a wide presence in the US.

I would die to see your closet!!!! It must be very packed (but awesome!)….. about this vest…. Not my style…. What bothers me about it’s not it’s structured but its length….. A bit too long for me (but I’m very petite)…. Although I love the top and the necklace!

  • Love that sleeveless white blazer! And donuts are my weakness!

I love seeing sleeveless blazers on others, I find it very elegant, but whenever I try to pull it off it just doesn’t work. Love the style though!
