This Stitch Fix Box is #39!!! My May box will be my 40th! It’s one of the most consistent subscription services I’ve received through out the years, and I enjoy it more each month as my stylists get to know my style better & better as time goes on. Here we go with Stitch Fix Review April 2016.
UPDATE: Stitch Fix June 2016 Review & Giveaway is Live!
For my second Stitch Fix box of April, I requested off the shoulder styles as well as dress options. My stylist Lucy delivered once again, and wrote me a lovely note to go along with the pieces. Love these personalized touches.

Just to give you some background info on how I decided what to keep from this box, it was not easy. As I’ve been shopping a lot, especially online, and from Trunk Box ( see my April Review here) very recently, I knew I would probably keep one piece from this box. If I haven’t been so immersed 🙂 in adding to my summer wardrobe, I would have probably kept the whole box and get the 25% discount.
In this box, I received three dresses, one top, and a skirt. Let’s take a peek inside. I’ll indicate which piece I kept. As always you can find outfit details under the photos.
Collective Concepts Gabriel Tie Waist Dress ($88)
The first dress out of my box was this tie waist, printed beauty. It even had POCKETS. You know I LOVE pockets.
This dress is absolutely gorgeous on its own. When I was trying on everything at home, my oldest daughter told me this dress would be her choice; and my husband loved it too. I love it when Stitch Fix gets my family involved in giving me suggestions. So cute!
I paired the dress with my new lace up heels I kept from Trunk Club. ( You can see them in my April Review) These shoes make a great statement whatever you wear them with. If you are looking to add this trend to your wardrobe I recommend this pair. (and they even come in pink) I added my most worn studs & the unique snake bracelet from Wantable to complete the outfit. When the dress has a busy pattern, I don’t like to overwhelm the look with too many accessories.
Love the neckline, and the cut of the dress.
STATUS: SENT BACK
This dress was one of the three contenders of this box. I regrettably sent back the dress as I already have this one from Nordstrom. Although mine is not patterned, it is very similar in shape & color. I HIGHLY recommend you request the dress tough if you like it; so so pretty.
Dress: Stitch Fix (Love this similar option) | Shoes: Vince Camuto | Sunglasses: Prada | Jewelry: Wantable (see all my Wantable Reviews)
Skies Are Blue Maeve Crepe Dress ($78)
The pattern of this dress reminded me of the Iznik pottery I love and collect. The dress also has a back detail that I really liked. I was a bit concerned with the shift style of it; this style is usually not my favorite.
I always look forward to finding an excuse to wear my new cobalt heels, and I thought they looked pretty with the dress as it has beautiful blue tones in it. I also added big, ornate drop earrings, and my latest favorite Stella&Dot bangle & sunglasses. (This pair seriously goes with everything.)
STATUS – SENT BACK
The dress turned out to be a better fit than I expected but I pretty much knew I would return it. I know that I don’t wear shift dresses all that much, and especially in the summer I look for more flowy styles, and fabrics.
Dress: Stitch Fix (Similar Pretty Option) | Shoes: Vince Camuto (kept from Trunk Club) | Sunglasses: Stella&Dot | Bracelet: Stella &Dot | Earrings: Wantable
Collective Concepts Atalya Cold Shoulder Top ($48)
I asked Lucy for off the shoulder pieces, and she wrote that she thought I would like this Collective Concepts Cold Shoulder Top. She was right, I LOVED this top immediately; even before I put it on.
The top has a gorgeous print, and soft white & pink hues. I recently kept this white pair of jeans from Trunk Club, and I thought the two pieces made a fab pair. I live in casual outfits like this one during the day. These wedges (which you can see styled with three more looks here) added the lift I love while keeping the comfort high. (I feel like I can run in them haha)
STATUS – KEPT
This top was immediately in my top 3 of this Stitch Fix box, and at the end of the day I kept it knowing I’ll get a lot of use out of it. It’s important for me to know I’ll wear a piece more than once, and this top definitely is versatile.
Top: Stitch Fix ( Love this option under $40, Pretty Printed Option) | Jeans: Caslon (Under $75) Kept from This Trunk Club | Shoes: Michael Kors Wedges (See them Styled in 3 More Outfits) | Bracelet: Stella & Dot | Earrings: Wantable | Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Adelyn Rae Taliya Dress ($88)
I was so very impressed by the Taliya dress and its STUNNING color. In fact, at first I knew I would just have to keep this piece. The fit is perfect, and the details are exquisite.
As a side note, I found a very similarly cut dress here .
I’ve always loved orange & cobalt together. The cobalt sandals were a very easy choice for this dress. My new lace cut out shoulder bag was delicate enough for the girly look. I wore my bracelet I kept from Rocksbox to add sparkle ( get a FREE MONTH with CODE: theboxqueenxoxo) & colorful drop earrings for their fun factor. (from Wantable.)
STATUS – SENT BACK
I had to think hard on this one, and went back and forth between the dress & the cold shoulder top trying to decide which one to keep. I ADORE the dress however for the $ I was not sure how many times I would use it.
The fabric is a bit thicker, and the dress feels more formal than casual. I do keep many dresses from Stitch Fix, but historically they’ve been pieces that easily adapt to both day and night. I just could not convince myself I would wear the Taliya dress beyond bridal & baby showers. I did LOVE it tough. SO MUCH!!! 🙂
Dress: Stitch Fix ( Love this Option in Orange) | Shoes: Vince Camuto – Keeper From Trunk Club | Bag: Stella & Dot | Earrings: Wantable | Bracelet: Rocksbox (Get A FREE MONTH of Rocksbox with CODE: theboxqueenxoxo)
Pixley Carol Printed Skirt ($68)
This printed skirt is a different version of the patterned skirt I got in my first April Stitch Fix. It reminded me so much of it.
This skirt has a strip of yellow which inspired me to pair it with a yellow/orange top, and beige yellow heels. (see a similar version here) I also wore my favorite Kendra Scott necklace to add some movement to the tee. I recommend you buy a couple staple tops like this one; I wear mine with everything.
I also found a super similar option if you like the style and print of this skirt.
STATUS – SENT BACK
I don’t really wear tight mini skirts anymore, and sent this one back. It was fun playing around with it tough.
Top: Ann Taylor -old (Similar Option Same Brand) | Skirt: Stitch Fix (Similar Style) | Shoes: Pour La Victoire -old (Similar Style I Love) | Jewelry: Rocksbox – Get Your Free Month Here with CODE: theboxqueenxoxo
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: This was a fab box of Stitch Fix with so many cheerful, happy pieces I love so much. Coming close to the milestone of 40 Stitch Fix Boxes, I obviously recommend you give this service a try at least once to see for yourself how you like it.
