Do you ever wake up, and while getting ready to face the days responsibilities, feel like you can’t bother to style your hair? By now, you ladies know that I love curling & straightening my hair and fancying it up. Quite honestly though, some mornings I feel like I just want to put it in a bun and be done with it.
I usually stay up late, reading books, writing, or working on some other aspect of the blog. When I wake up, between getting breakfast ready for the kids, dressing up to get them to school and organizing my own day, I have limited time to spend on myself.
This is why during the school year, in the mornings, I ace the ten minute makeup & everything simple & quick. As I don’t want to sacrifice a cute hairstyle when I am short on time, there are a few simple everyday hairstyles in my repertoire I choose from. I’ll show you two of them today.
Trying new beauty & hair products is something I enjoy so much as I like to keep myself updated, and love to discover new formulas that work. I recently tried Suave’s newest 2016 collection, Coconut Oil Infusion line, which consists of shampoo, conditioner, and treatment oil. You can find them at Walmart.
I chose this line because it is designed for damage repair. The products are infused with the natural moisturizer coconut oil to deliver lightweight moisture that does not weigh the hair down. I learned that the shampoo and conditioner system visibly repairs damage in just three uses. After all the heat styling I use & hair coloring, I NEED just that!!
After washing my hair with Suave’s Coconut Oil Infusion line shampoo & conditioner, I used the Damage Repair Oil Treatment on my wet hair to smooth rough cuticles, tame flyaways, and to infuse shine. It’s really cool that Suave’s collections are salon proven to “work as well as” luxury brands. I love when accessible brands are so efficient!
As I mentioned, two of my everyday hairstyles are quick & practical. What I aim for here is being put together, and not perfection.
1) NATURAL WAVES FROM OVERNIGHT BRAIDED HAIR
For wavy, and slightly crimped hair, first I washed it. I then applied the damage repair oil treatment. ( which I think worked wonders) I dried my hair about 80%. After it was mostly dry, just slightly damp, I braided my hair in one big braid on the back.
On the braid I sprayed a bit of beach waves spray, and slept on it overnight. You can say this style takes about eight hours to cook haha, but I promise in the morning you’ll just spend 5 minutes.
When I woke up, I unbraided my hair, tossed it over once, and voila I’ve got waves with no time spent with my curling iron. This style feels so carefree, so laid-back.
2) HALF UPDO WITH A BRAIDED CENTER PART
Another simple hairstyle alternative in my morning routine is the braided half updo. This style takes no more than five minutes maybe less, and it feels a bit more put together.
You brush your hair, and create a slight poof at the crown. Take about equal chunks of hair from both sides, join them in the middle, at the back of your head, and braid them. I think its more unique when the braid is imperfect, sometimes uneven. After you braid, play around with it and widen your braid by pulling each part to the sides.
Ladies you can visit your local Walmart to try out all of the new 2016 Suave Professionals collections: Coconut Oil Infusion, Coconut Milk Infusion and Biotin Infusion. (while supplies last.)
What are your go to everyday hairstyles? When you are in a time crunch, how do you style your hair? I would LOVE to hear lovelies.
