EASY HEALTHY LIFESTYLE TIPS TO TRY IN 2019
1) Find An Exercise Routine That Works for Your Life Now
I’ve mostly been an athletic person throughout my life. I’ve done tennis, track, and swimming teams growing up and got pretty serious in sports. On the flip side though, as my body was always so used to being exercised, after having kids, it’s been that much more of an adjustment. It’s been a struggle at times to keep up with a consistent workout routine week after week, and year after year.
It’s taken some time to admit to myself that it was okay to not do every single sport that I used to do daily, and was good at. I think it is important to find the workout routine that works for your present. When I assessed myself, I knew that for my life at the moment I needed a quick, and effective form of exercise.
It needed to make me feel good, keep my body flexible, worked my heart while helping me maintain the body weight that feels healthy to me. I’ve been loving Barre3’s online studio (you can get $10 off with my referral link) The exercises provide a complete mind and body balance and feel invigorating. Currently I do Barre3 twice a week in addition to brisk walks outside, and basketball games at home. If I miss a couple days I don’t sweat it anymore.

2) Find Ways to Reduce Stress
The times that I feel stressed out and tense are the times I feel the least healthiest. It goes without saying that life in this day and age is full of stressors. As I am an over thinker, and a non stop multi-tasker with a lot of responsibilities and a pretty busy life I feel stressed often. For 2019 one of my goals is being proactive in reducing my stress levels daily.
Having an exercise routine that works for my current life as I talked about above is definitely helping. In addition to that I am talking about how laughing daily, and slowing things down are helping more in detail below.
Apart from those I found that even simple things like keeping a journal where I can write about anything, and everything, lighting candles around the house with soothing scents like lavender, and setting aside calm reading time in the middle of the fast paced activities have been all helpful. As I am more of an extrovert I get my energy from relationships, and people. Making an effort to set aside times to see friends, and spending time with my family doing actually fun things have been huge too. I must also mention that our beloved pets are amazing in making us feel calmer. Playing with Emma, our golden retriever always helps me feel better and less stressed. <3

3) Add Supplements to Your Diet That Work For Your Body
There are so many supplements out there and I want to point out once again that if you have any questions your doctor is your best resource when it comes to health advice and I am barely sharing my own experience and not consulting medically in any form.
When searching for supplementing my already pretty clean diet, I found that I needed something that would help internally to support digestion and intestinal health. I feel my best when these two main systems of the body work as they should. I was also wanting a supplement that would support the health of my skin, nourishing it from inside out with collagen.
I came across the health benefits of bone broth and started drinking it daily. I buy this brand and everyday drink it a mug full. So far I’ve seen all the listed benefits and more including a clear, and more subtle skin. This bone broth tastes just like soup. I add a bit of lemon to it and sometimes drink it for lunch if I am too busy to cook a proper meal for myself when the kids are at school.
Are there supplements that are helping you lately? Would love to hear!
4) Try to Find Something To Laugh About Everyday
I would probably say this is one of the most important tips if not the most important. As much as I love laughing, I don’t in any way mean this to be a Pollyanna kinda way of life or mean that when we are going through hardships or health problems we won’t feel down. We are all human, and we all go through the ups and downs of life, happiness, and sadness and all.
There is still something to be said about finding the silver lining. The very inspiring people I’ve known throughout life has been those who keep optimism and give themselves the permission to smile, laugh and be in touch with their inner child even when things don’t go the way they want. This is VERY hard to do however I am trying to find something to belly laugh about each day and trying my best to keep at it.
5) Slow Down a Few Minutes Each Day
Per my personality type slowing down doesn’t come naturally to me. I am known to take on many things at the same time while maintaining a busy family and social life. I think I am pretty good at balancing everything however I am only human and don’t have an endless energy. Not slowing down sometimes takes a toll on my health, and I end up feeling exhausted.
As you may guess, in addition to my very fast paced life, I spend quite a bit of time looking at screens be it a computer or a phone and I spend some time on social media everyday. These are such time and energy sucks when you think of it. I made it a goal to slow down for a few minutes (or more) each day intentionally.
The way I slow down is taking a couple minutes to close my eyes and just sit every morning taking deep breaths. Through out the day, at least three times I turn off all electronics to have some time without distractions, and I take walks around my neighborhood with my dog to clear my head.
How do you slow down ladies?
